Every couple vows and longs for a relationship that grows and flourishes, upon the budding love that they have. Your marriage is the beginning of your tomorrows, and while your wedding day will possibly be the best event of their life... it is everyone's prayer that each marriage grows deeper and blossoms more, day by day, year by year, forever. The Des Moines Botanical Center is a great place to begin a marriage, in the midst of nurture, emergent growth and blossoms.
The Botanical Gardens are one of my absolute favorite places to do weddings. Every time I have officiated a wedding there, I have been impressed with the staff at the Botanical Center. Possibly amplified because of their experience and focus on tourist and visitors, only a few locations have a "can do", "no problem", "whatever you need" commitment like the team and management at the Botanical Center.
If you are looking for a place that offers the opportunity to have an "outdoor" wedding without the potential for weather plans going amiss, the Des Moines Botanical Center is the place. And of course they offer "reception facilities" on location, talk about making life easy. And before the wedding and in-between the reception, your guests won't be bored as they take in the educational, inspiring beauty of the gardens.
And then when you combine the beauty of a bride and groom in the midst of the natural beauty of the plants, flowers, and creation, you are sure to have an awesome experience.
The Botanical Center in Des Moines is rich and fertile with a living example of what it takes to ensure a successful marriage. The living plants that exist and come to life at the Botanical Center didn't just happen by accident. They exist because the right seeds and seedlings were intentionally sown with care. A great marriage doesn't just happen either; it exists because the seeds of faith, hope and love are sown with care in the hearts of two people. As the Caretakers tend to the plants, flowers and foliage, a couple must tend to their marriage; guarding it, caring for it, protecting it. There's no wonder that the word husbandry, a form of farming and gardening, illustrates the richness of the marriage relationship.
As the stream that runs through the Botanical Center, so must a couple follow the streams of their life. Without the life giving power of water, nothing would exist in it's beauty at the Botanical Gardens,…and no one would come to see it's beauty. But because of the watering, feeding, and care given at the Botanical Gardens, thousands upon thousands awestruck visitors have come to view it's natural beauty. Without nurturing and encouragement a marriage can dry up too, or conversely a well watered, well cared for marriage will flourish with beauty that will inspire family and people all around, and everyone will see it. Wow, what a setting to start your marriage off at!
Most of all I just love the beauty of God's creation held within the Garden,…..plants, flowers, orchids, oh yes orchids,…..delicate and tender, with beauty unmatched and only possible because of God the designer,..and such is love and marriage,…delicate, tender, with beauty unmatched.
